Excel always opens a blank file upon starting

Recently I was always faced with the issue that everytime I started up Excel a new, blank file was opened. When trying to close this file I got the message “Want to save your changes to ‘Sheet1’“, while I didn’t make any changes. Repaired MS Office, but this didn’t help me. Seems it was caused…
